Childcare

Kids need a lot of attention, at any and all times of the day. In fact, 75 percent of kids under the age of 5 have experienced some kind of sleep related problem. Some times though, work or other problems get in the way of giving kids the attention that they need. That is where daycare comes in.

The importance of daycare has been known for centuries. In fact, the first established day care center, the New York Day Nursery in the United States, started in 1854.During the second World War, the Federal Government sponsored day for about 400,000 preschool age children.

Even way back then, the importance of daycare was understood, and appreciated. Having child care will not only allow you to work and create a better life for your children, but will also provide you and your children with other benefits.

For example, a study of low income children in Chicago neighborhoods found that the kids who had attended preschool or childcare were actually 28 percent less likely to develop problems with alcohol or other drugs, or wind up in jail or prison during adulthood, as compared with kids that did not go to preschool. Thankfully, now, according to national statistics, more than 80 percent of kids spend at least some time in day care by the age of four.

Childcare is such an important thing to have available nowadays. If you are a parent, at what age did you start taking your child to daycare? Is it affordable? What are your thoughts and opinions on daycare? Please share in the comments below. For more information, read this website.
